Synopsis : The story is set in a village called Pattada [meaning; a place where wood is heaped for burning a dead body as a funeral rite], located in the foothills of the Eastern Ghats. It follows the lives of Gopalan Master, a former leader who renounced violence and became a symbolic figure in the village; Charulatha, an independent and strong-willed woman who faces slut-shaming and is forced into marriage without her consent by the village, including her boyfriend, Baburaj; and Suttu, Baburaj’s dog, wrongly labeled as rabid, who also faces violence from the village. The narrative explores the harsh treatment both Charulatha and Suttu endure, how the village celebrates violence in a hysteric way, with Suttu ultimately deciding to leave the village alongside the animals. "If a place doesn't fit, the world is vast enough to run away," Suttu says. Charulatha, meanwhile, is left stuck in a complicated situation with the man she loves. And the violent human instincts of the village continued.
