Synopsis : Maarwat is a short film based on the theme of intercaste marriage. It is a love story of 2 people from different castes. The girl is from a lower caste called mhar. Mhars are popularly known for the art of making bamboo handicrafts. These handicrafts have a vital role in every wedding. This film sheds light on the prejudices and biases that continue to exist in our society

Rajaram Gopal Turi is an indian cinematographer, he pursued his education in fashion photography and later on joined digital academy, the film school to learn more about cinematography and completed the diploma in same. He has worked as director of photography in “Between the Gates” and has produced the Konkani romantic song “Mann Bhovta Khaytari”. These projects are his pure love of filmmaking and the Konkani language, he made is his debu as director for the short film “Nimnya Disak” in 2022.
