Born in 1992 in the Surkhandaryo region in Uzbekistan. Shokir Kholikov studeis at the Uzbekistan State Institute of Arts and Culture in 2014. Graduated in Film, TV and Radio Directing in 2018, before enrolling in a Master’s course at the same Institute in 2021. Presently works for the Uzbekkino National Agency and the National TV and Radio Company of Uzbekistan. His first feature film, SUNDAY (2023), won best film at the 25TH Shanghai IFF Asian New Talent Award.
