Synopsis : In 65 AD Rome, Emperor Nero accuses his mentor Seneca of a foiled assassination plot. Seneca, resigned to his death sentence, hosts a final, philosophical gathering before facing execution, questioning his true character: opportunist or morally upright sage.

Robert Schwentke

Robert SCHWENTKE (1968) was born in Stuttgart in Germany. He is a filmmaker and writer, known for Flightplan (2005), Red (2010) and two films in the Divergent series: Insurgent (2015) and Allegiant (2016). In 1992, he graduated from the Los Angeles film school Columbia College Hollywood. He then made two films in Germany, Tattoo (2002) and The Family Jewels (2003) before turning to larger Hollywood productions. In 2017 he returned to Germany, and made The Captain.
