Kiriya graduated from the Cambridge School of Weston in Massachusett. His career in New York as a photographer commenced in 1994, working on CD jackets, music videos, and commercials. His film directorial debut occurred in 2004 with "Casshern," followed by "Goemon" in 2009. Kiriya is also the author of the novel "The Dreams of the Tiger, the Crow, and Ayako." In 2015, his music video for Sandaime J Soul Brothers' "Unfair World" gained significant attention. He released his first Hollywood movie, "Last Knights," in November 2015.
