Two Friends / Dostojee


Synopsis : ‘Dostojee’ is a 2021 Bengali feature drama film directed by Prasun Chatterjee. It was produced by Kathak Talkies. The film won the top prize, the Golden Shika Award, at the Nara International Film Festival for 2022. Two 8-year old boys navigate a growing religious divide in this portrait of childhood set after the destruction of India's Babri Mosque. ‘Dostojee’ is Prasun Chatterjee’s debut feature film.

Prasun Chatterjee

Prasun Chatterjee is a self-taught filmmaker, hailing from the suburbs of Kolkata. He learnt the ropes doing group theatre for six years. Despite not having a film school background or any experience in filmmaking, Chatterjee managed to shoot his first short film ‘Shades’ (2017), which premiered in the International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala.
