Synopsis : A senior couple, Ernests and Alvīne, work in a post office and dream of winning a trip to Rome. But, as the couple grapples with Alvīne’s fast-progressing Alzheimer’s, the tone shifts to a more poignant portrayal of Ernests’ attempts to cope with his wife’s memory loss and her diminishing sharpness of thought.

Elza Gauja is a Latvian fillmmaker who has directed the documentary feature Meanwhile in Lucavsala (2022) and the feature dramedy Keep Smiling Mom! (2022) — the latter of which was selected for the Tallinn Black Nights' FF Works In Progress section.
